Instruction of Gynostemma
Gynostemma (Jiaogulan) belongs to the genus Gynostemma, which grows
in the southeastern regions of China. It is a climbing vine,
attaching itself to supports using tendrils.
Gynostemma extract is a general name of more than fifty different
saponins isolated from Gynostemma. These saponins, called
Gypenosides, are extremely similar to ginsenosides so it was
considered to be fundamentally equivalent to ginsenosides found in
Panax Ginseng and American Ginseng. However, the varieties of
saponins found in Gynostemma were more likely to show broader
adaptogenic capabilities.
